Five new galleries were inaugurated by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, G. Kishan Reddy at the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad. These galleries span across diverse themes, showcasing a range of artefacts, including Indian sculptures, Bidriware, lamps and chandeliers from around the globe, as well as European bronze statues and marble sculptures. Some notable artefacts on display include a 2nd Century B.C.E. Bharhut fragment with a lotus medallion, an ‘Anantsayana Vishnu’ from the Kakatiya period, and 300 unique Bidriware objects.
