Spread across 2,200 sq.ft, the museum showcases over 120 reproductions of jewellery pieces that once belonged to India but are now in international institutions like the British Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum

The Museum of Meenakari Heritage opened to the public in Jaipur, a first-of-its kind initiative highlighting the ancient enamelling technique of meenakari. The self-funded museum, set up by Sunita Shekhawat and designed by Siddhartha Das Studio, showcases a rich collection of vibrant meenakari jewellery, with over 120 reproductions of jewellery pieces, dating as far back as the 15th century. Along with these pieces, the museum also houses photographs that narrate the history of the enamelling tradition, which travelled to the Indian subcontinent from Persia and still continues to flourish in Jaipur.
