An exhibition titled Birds of India: Company Paintings c. 1800 to 1835 curated by Delhi Art Gallery (DAG) was held in Gujarat’s Kasturbhai Lalbhai Museum. Featuring 125 portraits of Indian birds from the early 19th century, the exhibition highlighted Company Paintings created by Indian artists for British patrons, with works drawn from key albums including a rare set of 99 bird paintings by undocumented painters from East Bengal, offering a vivid glimpse into India’s natural history and artistic heritage.
