The J. Paul Getty Museum, the British Museum, the Berlin State Museums and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya collaborated to host a transcultural exhibition on Ancient Sculptures: India Egypt Assyria Greece Rome, in Mumbai. The transcontinental exhibition featured art from the ancient world, curated from an Indian perspective, building on a continued tradition representing 3000 years of Indian art. Some of the central themes explored here included the role of nature in human lives, the divine form, and ideas and paradigms of beauty.
The first Apollo to land in India, first century CE, has been lent to the show by the Berlin State Museums.
